The first luxury Italian brand to arrive in the Maldives, The Baglioni is less brash than many of if its five-star counterparts. It has a beautiful location in the Dhaalu Atoll, soothing low-key design, family-friendly facilities and grown-up drinking and dining options.
This island hideaway perfectly fits the tropical island idyll – white sandy pathways, swaying coconut groves, sun-bleached woods and thatched pavilions. Although soothing, the simple styling and cream-on-cream colour scheme lacks the imagination you might expect from a Italian luxury brand and the architecture feels rather tightly packed together. On the plus side, the vibe is relaxed and elegant without ever feeling uptight or pretentious.
